Women, although quite relevant, should be changed to People with Uteri/Ovaries

Except that this wouldn’t be an issue if it weren’t for misogynistic attempts to control women’s bodies. Women are presumed to have this particular set of reproductive organs, and that assumption combined with sexism is what produces the horrifying desire to control contraceptive access, abortion, etc.

Yes, people who have uteri/ovaries and are not women will be impacted. Yes, I want those people to have full autonomy over their reproductive decisions.  In fact, I want comprehensive reproductive rights for all people.  However, that does not mean that these policies were not designed with the specific intent of impacting women.  Neglecting that fact in favor of “inclusion” (and incidentally, this terminology that reduces people to their genitals is actually pretty ignorant of the way these policies operate on non-cis women’s bodies) obfuscates from the larger problem: sexism.

i knew it was only a matter of hours before we had to go over this again.

Yep. Knew it.

I almost reblogged this earlier. I wanted to say something like “hey guys, how long will it be until a SJW insists that we change this to uterus-bearers?!”

Not long at all, apparently.

God fucking forbid women have one thing of their own in this world. We can’t write about ourselves, we can’t speak about ourselves, we can’t advocate for ourselves even within our own so-called “social justice” spheres without someone telling us to shut up about our own experiences.

But in their eyes, anyone with a uterus IS a woman. I am not a man, this commentary is really, really hurtful. You’re hurting all sorts of different people by NOT using uterus bearer. Not all cis women can reproduce/need reproductive health. What about intersex people that need reproductive health? What about trans* women that needs exams? If we jjust further the believe that women=ovaries, you’re hurting your non cis women.

FUCK YES cis women’s struggles are important, but don’t deny the other people in this world the right to this sort of care. And they will be denied it if the fight is won with cries of “WOMEN OWN WOMEN’S OVARIES!” because some of us aren’t women, and have ovaries, we aren’t denying your struggles, we’re asking to be included in this fight.

Also pizza is vegatables.

For the love of god cis women, this damn issue is centered around you, and always will be. All trans people ask is that you don’t forget us as well. THAT’S IT. Noone is telling you to shut up, they are just saying ‘please don’t misgender us in the process.’ Because this issue is centered around you, acknowledging us is not going to derail the cause.

People make things like this. We reblog and comment on it. They reblog it and basically tell us to shut up and stay out of their way. Stop stealing from women. Yeah, that’s pretty much how it goes.

Well, once you cis women get y’all’s rights, you will be coming back for us freaks, right? Right?

Yeah.

For fuck’s sake.

Is it National Cissexist Feminists Day or something?

I am not a woman, kfuckingthx.

It’s bad enough society already sees me as one, without you guys forcing a gender on me because I have a uterus. One which I most definitely do not want.

Reblogging for commentary.

White cis feminists leave everyone behind everyone. They argue that POCs are being misogynistic when they point out the hypocrisy of jumping on Chris Brown but idolising folks like Fassbender, they tell us that we’re misogynists for wanting to be included in things that very much affect us too and they tell trans women they’re misogynists for not understanding why cis women don’t want them in their bathrooms.

When people are pointing out the hypocrisy of Congress and their treatment of people who need abortion rights, you have to specifically talk about cis women because the people and institutions who want to prevent people from getting abortions are specifically talking about cis women. Congress and insurance companies and everyone who wants to prevent people from having abortion rights are creating legislation to block cis women and spreading rhetoric to prevent cis women from getting those rights or having those options. The conversation around who should be allowed to have an abortion should include nonbinaries and trans men, but the conversation surrounding pointing out the hypocrisy and stupidity of everyone trying to prevent abortion rights should be about cis women, because they are targeting cis women.

Including trans men and nonbinaries is important in the movement for abortion rights, and it’s not like including them is a disservice to cis women or something, but fighting back against anti-abortion movement should put more emphasis on cis women seeing as that the anti-abortion movement is putting all of their focus on cis women.
